Water and Sewer Rates for 2024

Water and sewer are billed quarterly for all accounts. 
The quarterly rate for each is as follows:
              Water Basic:             $ 101.25
              Water Availability:    $   33.75
              Sewer Basic:             $   91.48
              Sewer Availability:    $   30.50
              Total  Bill:                  $ 256.98 

Each customer is allotted 30,000 gallons of water for a three-month period.  The rate for usage exceeding 30,000 gallons is $1.80 per 1,000 gallons over 30,000 gallons.

Customers residing outside of the Pomeroy City Limits are billed $172.00 for Basic Water and $30.50 for Water Availability each quarter.  The allotted 30,000 applies to these users as well, as does the water overage rate of $1.80 per 1,000 gallons over the 30,000 gallon base.

Customers who have their water service turned off at the meter will be billed for Water and Sewer Availability, but will not be charged the basic rate.

Meters are read on or near the 15th day of each month.  During the months of December, January, and February, no meters are read due to winter conditions (snow & ice on the meter boxes).  Please check to ensure no faucets are dripping and the toilet flapper seals completely.  This can cause water overages.  If you notice or hear water running, please contact the Pomeroy Public Works office at 509-843-3936. Customers are given a 60,000 gallon water credit during these months to compensate for the quarter that the meter is not read.

If payment is not received prior to the 15th of the month for your current billing quarter, the City issues a pink "Reminder" stating the account balance, due date and shut off date.  A $2.00 fee is charged for each reminder notice. 

If no payment is received by the reminder due date, a Red Tag will be placed on the customer's door.  Service will be terminated if payment arrangements are not made with the Clerk's office within 48 hours.  A $10.00 fee is charged for each red tag issued.

The quarterly sewer charge is a basic rate and does not fluctuate (with some exceptions such as trailer parks, apartment buildings, and other multi-family facilities).

If the City receives an NSF check from a customer, there will be a $20.00 fee assessed.
